4th Grade Celebration

A committee is established in April to provide assistance to the fourth grade teachers in planning their annual in-school celebration for the "promotion" of our fourth grade students. Committee members purchase and hand out refreshments and special gifts on that day. Members may also assist school staff where needed. Click here for a list of committee members.

Bailey's Garden

The LES PTA is pleased to work with the Shrifin family in their effort to build Bailey's Garden. Bailey’s Garden is an ADA compliant playground that is going to be built at Lebanon Elementary School in memory of their daughter, Bailey Teresa Shifrin. Book Cart

A book cart is located in the office hallway near the PTA bulletin board. It contains books, cassettes and videos pertaining to child development, behavior, parenting and education. This "library lending" service is available to both parents and teachers. Committee members purchase new books for the cart, maintain book cart inventory and monitor on a regular basis the return of books borrowed. Click here for a list of committee members.

Professional Programs

The Professional Programs committee researches, plans and coordinates educational and recreational programs that are held at the school during normal school hours. In the past, such programs have included visits from LifeStar Nurses, authors, illustrators, puppeteers, dancers, storytellers, science and invention programs, writing workshops, fire safety programs, performances from the Little Theatre for the Deaf, The Hartford School of Ballet and major theatrical productions from the American Family Theater. PTA Membership

The PTA Membership committee prepares membership enrollment forms for distribution, processes completed forms, issues membership cards, collects and forwards dues to the treasurer, maintains an updated record of all PTA members and prepares the PTA membership list to be sent to the CT PTA. Committee members are needed to coordinate membership enrollment at the Open House. Click here for a list of committee members.

Publicity

The Publicity Committee informs parents of upcoming events through the school newsletter, contacts local newspapers regarding certain events, manages the L.E.S. PTA Website and distributes the electronic L.E.S. PTA newsletter. Click here for a list of committee members.

Safety Fair

The Safety Fair committee is responsible for organizing the bi-annual Safety Fair. The Safety Fair is open to the Town. Past organizations who have participate at the Safety Fair include: The Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department, Connecticut State Policy D.A.R.E., Connecticut Fire Academy, Masons and many other organizations. Spirit Week

Spirit Week is a weeklong celebration that takes place during the second half of the school year. This event is to promote togetherness and school spirit. Committee members coordinate the week's daily activities with staff members, prepare program flier, purchase program supplies and assist where needed during that week. Sunshine Committee

The Sunshine Committee sends correspondence to teachers and staff members throughout the school year for certain occasions (i.e. baby and marriage congratulations, deaths in the family, retirements, etc) and purchases gifts for staff members on special occasions such as Christmas/Hanukkah, Secretary's Day, School Nurses Day (or other special persons day). This committee purchases fruit baskets for staff members during the Parent/Teacher conferences and also organizes the Staff Appreciation Luncheon which takes place in June at the school. Committees
